Stockholm Congestion tax will increase its prices and change its times from 1 January 2020
Watch out if you are travelling into Stockholm, the congestion tax is both increasing its prices and changing its times and dates. It also has seasonal variation as well as daily and hourly variations.
The higher prices are focused on the more congested times of day and seasons. As the scheme is aimed at reducing congestion, times of the year and day when there is less congestion have lower or free access - for example during the night or Swedish summer holidays.
After analysing the different traffic flows, some days with particularly high traffic, such as the day before national holidays have been added to the days that are subject to the charge.
